Indulged a bit too much this weekend? All your good intentions left you by Saturday evening while dining out? Do you need to up your veggie intake? Then this delicious detox green smoothie is just what you need.

I started having a smoothie most mornings for breakfast last year after I ran into some health problems and realized that I needed to eat more healthy and lose some weight.
Green smoothies are my go-to breakfast most days. I have discovered that I stay full for the biggest part of my morning, my skin is clearer and I lost a lot of weight by eating a raw diet with unprocessed foods. Plus it tastes really good.

What can I add to a delicious detox green smoothie?
My delicious detox green smoothie usually exist out of:
Bananas:
Bananas naturally sweeten your smoothie. If you add banana there is absolutely no need for sugar or sweeteners of any kind.
Bananas are a good source of Magnesium, Copper, Vitamin B6, and Potassium.
Greens:
Spinach is a wonderful source of Magnesium, Folate, Iron, Copper, Vitamins B2, B6, C, E, Calcium, and Potassium.
I use baby spinach most of the time. You can however also use kale or standard spinach. The taste of the spinach is masked by the banana, so you will not taste it. I add about 1 cup of spinach.
Avocado:
Avocado makes your smoothie creamy. I use about half an avocado per smoothie. Avocado has a neutral taste in any smoothie and is considered a superfood.
Avocados aid the body to better absorb cancer-fighting nutrients, such as carotenoids found in vegetables like spinach and carrots.
Greek yogurt:
Did you know that greek yogurt can have as much as 17.3g protein per serving?
Your body uses protein to build bones, cartilage, muscles, skin, hair, and blood. It also acts as an energy source for the body.
